Idea for An Article
Peace:

I am an expert in performance poetry.

I could share my knowledge on the art of performance poetry in an article format.

Thank you for the opportunity.

In peace, always,

sounds interesting. what are you thinking specifically? what are the main points you think you would want to cover in a piece like that?

Art Of Performance Poetry Techniques
Brian:

I have a workshop I created on the art of performance poetry. I have come up with seven techniques that ensure better performance. I can address these techniques briefly and speak to the history of the artform and how popular it is today - especially in the poetry Slam movement.

Thank you, in peace,

that's what's up. i like that. i'd like to add a relevant feel to it, maybe channel this overall lesson through a personal experience... maybe an encounter with some novice poet, etc.?

shoot me an email with a draft if you can. i like where this is going.

Okay brother Brian. I am glad you like the idea.

Personal experience - okay, I see where you are coming from. I have had encounters with a variety of novice poets, comrades across the spoken word community. I can reflect on my 2004 experience at When Brothers Speak in Toronto, Canada where I spoke with comrades Thirteen of Nazareth, J. Ivy, and another brother poet who lives in Toronto.

I will get to it this weekend and get a draft to you Brian.

Thanks for the opportunity brother!

One love, peace,

Yeah because I think the personal experience angle makes it more intimate piece... as a reader I want to gain insight into the mind of an expert poet and how he might see the poetic world around him.. and through that insight gain his/her view of how that poetic world can be improved.

Brian:

Peace brother. I see where you are coming from. Reminds me of the storytelling I do when I am teaching - adding slices of my personal experience in the mix to capture the attention or help youth relate to what I am saying, or teaching.

I will have the piece done by tomorrow night brother.

Be well,
