consciously vegan
So two months ago I took the San Diego go veg! for a week pledge. Initially it was just something to do, but as I learned more about a whole foods plant based “diet” and animal cruelty I started to take it more seriously for health, wellness, and spiritual reasons. I had been struggling with losing weight and I just needed to challenge myself. I was already a pescetarian so giving up fish and dairy wasn't any great stretch. I only ate fish because I held the misconception that I needed to consume crazy amounts of protein. It's been a great personal growth experience for me.

I feel much better and I can feel myself getting leaner and my energy levels are up. I try to refrain from taking supplements and use blackstrap molasses daily to increase my iron intake because I'm anemic. My hair is growing; I'm thinking it's the protein from my bean soups and killer curry tofu. Anywho I now love shopping at farmers markets, buying ingredients in bulk and cooking from scratch.

When I do want to eat out, thankfully San Diego has some great vegan restaurants like evolution and loving hut.

Any other vegans out there?

peace
