Room is small, like most places in Redhook (hence the price) but not tiny like some makeshift room you'd find in Bushwick. High ceilings. Fire escape (no cigarettes in the apartment) and very very sunny (top-floor) with two tall windows facing East, overlooking the Brooklyn-Queens expressway and some Brooklyn skyline. Room can fit a full sized bed, desk, and wardrobe (no built in closet) comfortably and still have good floor space (full sized bed takes up about 1/3 of the space). For more space you could elevate bed for storage underneath and/or install shelving. Apartment has rooftop access with bbq grill and beach chairs up there. Heat and hot water are included. Internet and electricity will be split. Looking for clean, organized, relatively quiet (there's no TV set in the living room), and peaceful minded person. Located 2.5 blocks from the F & G trains, easy access to Manhattan, downtown Brooklyn and Bedstuy.

Redhook has two big parks (one about 2 square blocks, the other about 8 square blocks), there is a public gym with an outdoor pool that costs $70 a year 2 blocks away, and the upper bay waterfront is a few blocks away (Valentino Pier fishing dock / view of Statue of Liberty). Large restaurant selection and neighborhood dive bars in Redhook and adjoining Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill. Ikea is a few blocks away and community is relatively quiet for NYC.
