Never Let Me Go was great. Still haven't digested everything. It's like a real-world Matrix love story where the robots are mainstream society. Seen Whale Rider? and Once Were Warriors? Cliff Curtis, who starred in Whale Rider produced a new film directed by fellow New Zealander Taika Waititi called Boy that's been buzzing quite a bit: RE: Film list - nikki - 10-21-2010 02:20 PM saw Never Let Me Go this weekend too...very good. prolly gonna have to peep it once more to really absorbed what was goin on... heard a good interview with director mark romanek on an LA radio station: http://www.kcrw.com/etc/programs/tt/tt101006mark_romanek_never_l havent seen Whale Rider or Once Were Warriors....will add to the list saw a movie called City Island...surprisingly good. RE: Film list - achali - 11-04-2010 06:01 PM Are there any clean sites that simply list new releases that are coming out of the festivals? Even something as simple as how this thread is composed of lists would be good. *favoriting this post* RE: Film list - nikki - 11-05-2010 06:09 PM nah, not that i know of other than goin directly to the sites of prod. companies that have put out films that i've responded to... A site i check regularly is Film Movement...i've seen more than few worthwhile films from their collection...good mix of indie and international films... |
