I wanted to honestly put everything cause i think it can inspire people to share what they are listening to... and i want to know cause i'm always tryna get up on something i haven't heard. i think we all have a tendency sometimes to hoard something good that we've heard just so we can be "up on it" before anyone else is... but this: Quote:Mackin 4 Beats (Dreams of Cuttin an R&B Chick) LMAO! You like beethoven? i didn't know that. I don't really mess with classical. I might listen to it at work cause I have to but I can't think of anyother time that I actually listen to it. Jazz is much more soothing to me... or my Thunderstorms CD... What's good with that Cyance? He be hatin man! I can't get no love!? I'm jealous! WTF man?!! what i'm spinnin'... - kamille - 06-21-2006 09:48 PM What a list you two! I definitely have to cop some of those songs. Baby (please say the baby) on The Carter huh? And isn't that new Ghostface SICK guys??? As for classical B, check out anything by Frederic Chopin (especially his "etudes") Here's my list. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man I wish I could hear your big ass laugh!! BDF is a friend of mine. He also does Freedom School in St. Paul and while we were at training I copped a mixtape. It's actually not too bad. That particular track I like because of the way he mixed it. Don't let the title get you!! That was a little random though I'll admit. hee hee hee!! Yes I like Beethoven. I also have a CD of cello and piano duets that's pretty dope. Quote:What's good with that Cyance? He be hatin man! I can't get no love!? I'm jealous! WTF man?!! na-na-na-na-na I'm playin'. When's the last time you talked to him?Kamille, YESS!!! People were definitely sleep on The Carter 2. Lil Wayne has matured as an artist I think, and the production is CRAZY aint it?!?!?I'm definitely feeling the Donny Hathway also. Can't have a music collection without some Donny. As for classical B, check out anything by Frederic Chopin (especially his "etudes") i see u tried to throw them album names in there on the low. wadn't gon tell no body huh! yo I BEEN up on that Carter II... where ya'll been!? That gnarles barkley is soooo hot. I love cee-lo. he's a perfect example of a free artist. Although I still have my beef with all these cats not going completely independent with thier music and will until they get on Master P's level. I got infinite respect for P no matter what he does just cause he knows the value of self-determination. And now he is establishing his own distribution. They might try and assasinate that dude for real. That ghostface is hot. But to be honest I don't think it's his best work. He got like 5 excellent tracks on there... Supreme Clientele got it beat by 10-fold. And really I mess with Pretty Toney AND Bullet Proof Wallets over Fishscale. but that just speaks to how great his music is more than anything else. So this Chopin dude... is that pronounced SHOW-PAN? Cause I might have heard that. I don't know... that classical just don't soothe my soul. I took a music class and I felt like I was frontin just trying be intellectual. And that was no good for me. :? Shell, man I ain't rapped with dominique in a minute. He said he wanted to start a magazine last time we "typed" eachother. I wasn't feelin the seperate movements. Ain't heard from him since. - brianold - 06-30-2006 02:31 PM anyone heard that new India.Aire yet? I'm thinkin about gettin it. A sleeper: 9th Wonder + Buckshot: Chemistry LINK driving down Peachtree/bumpin' India.Arie (that rhymes!) - kamille - 07-02-2006 03:37 PM Last weekend India was on V103.3 and took up the 8-10 p.m. slot to give Atlanta an in-depth album preview (her being a native of the ATL and all...). She played EVERY song on the new album in it's entirety and prefaced each one with an explanation of how each song came into fruition. It was GRRRRRREAT. I'm noticing that with each successive album, India's becoming more and more accepting of the power and revelation in vulnerability. I mean...there's this song on there where she's talking about a past love--that she still loves--and going through the process of accepting that he just doesn't love her anymore or love her as he did before. It's nothing new--concept wise--but there's only a few artist who can express this familiar angst so richly, so vividly. Some of the jams, while lyrically on point, could have maybe used different or LESS instrumentation...but this is maybe because I'm somewhat biased to the one voice-one instrument sound that India does oh so well. |
